Q: Hi Rachael! So exciting to learn more about the face behind The Grounded Coffee Bar. Tell us, what sparked the dream of owning your own coffee shop?
A: It's a dream I've held for so long! There's just something so special about creating a welcoming space where people can connect, relax, and of course, enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Purchasing The Grounded Coffee Bar in 2022 was a truly amazing moment.
Q: And now you've added [grounded] Books to the mix! How does that feel, and what inspired that addition?
A: Adding [grounded] Books feels like the completion of a dream! Coffee and books just go hand-in-hand, don't they? The idea was to create an even richer experience for our community – a place where you can grab your favorite latte and then browse for your next literary adventure.
Q: We hear you're a big Fantasy reader! What is it about that genre that captivates you?
A: Oh, I just love escaping into those intricately built worlds! Whether it's the epic scope of High Fantasy or the enchanting romance of Romantasy, there's something so immersive about these stories. They spark my imagination and offer a wonderful escape from the everyday.
Q: Physical books versus e-books – what's your take?
A: Ideally, I adore holding a physical book in my hands, feeling the pages turn. However, with three energetic kids, practicality often wins! The Kindle app on my phone has become my best friend for late-night reading in bed. It fits into my busy life so well.
Q: For those hoping to catch you at one of the Grounded locations, when are you usually around?
A: You can typically find me at one of the Grounded locations during the weekdays. I'm usually juggling all the behind-the-scenes work that comes with running my businesses.
Q: And what's your go-to drink while you're working hard?
A: It really depends on my mood! If I'm craving something warm and comforting, it's definitely a White Chocolate coffee. But if I need a little refreshing pick-me-up, a Strawberry Vanilla Refresher is my absolute favorite.
Q: Finally, we heard a rumor about your taste in music… care to spill the beans?
A: (Laughs) You might have to tap me on the shoulder to get my attention! I tend to get lost in my own world with Sleep Token blasting on my headphones. Their music just helps me focus and get in the zone.
